Salvation Message
Going Down The Highway Of Life?

Hello There !!!!

Allow me to ask you an honest question: Have there bee times in your personal life when you have felt that you have been aimlessly wandering down the highway of life without any real sense of direction? Even if you do have set goals in your life, some of which you have been able to achieve, have there been times when you have felt an uncomfortable feeling deep down within yourself; a feeling of dissatisfaction, of futility, and of emptiness which just seems to gnaw at your being, in spite of all of your worldly success? When that happens, does it cause you to wonder if there might not be more to this life than just doing your daily, monotonous, robotic work routine?

If you answered "yes" to any of the above questions, then you're by no means alone. In fact, I would dare say that the majority of people feel just like you, no matter who they are, or what part of the world they may be from, or what their social status might be. Why is this?

The simple truth of the matter is that the human spirit was never meant to be fully satisfied with carnal, earthly things apart from its Creator. It is incomplete when it is out of union, and out of sync, with our Heavenly Father. Our inner spirit longs to bathe in the Spiritual Light of His Presence, just as Adam and Eve enjoyed direct fellowship with the Lord prior to their fall in the Garden of Eden. In the Book of Genesis we read:

"And they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God amongst the trees of the garden. And the LORD God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou? And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself." Genesis 3:8-10, KJV

It was the sins of pride and rebellion, and not being satisfied with what they had, which destroyed the wonderful relationship which Adam and Eve had with the Lord. The Bible tells us quite plainly that the incessant desire to accumulate physical things in this life in order to try to satisfy the true needs of our spirit, is not only not of God, but is in fact inspired by Satan, the god of this current world, and the Prince of Darkness, who does everything within his power to keep us all so busy living and surviving in this human rat-race, and so busy trying to fulfill the desires of our flesh, that we devote very little, or no time, to ponder and worship our Creator, or to admire His marvelous natural creation.

Through Satan's inspiration, man has created a totally artificial environment of concrete cities, which are full of noise and confusion, violence and every imaginable perversion under the sun. In speaking of the futility of accumulating wealth and physical possessions in this life, Jesus, the Gospel writers, and the Apostles James and Paul said the following :

"Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also." Matthew 6:19-21, KJV

"...Verily I say unto you, That a rich man shall hardly enter into the kingdom of heaven. And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God." Matthew 19:23-24, KJV

"...Children, how hard is it for them that trust in riches to enter into the kingdom of God!" Mark 10:24b, KJV

"And they that use this world, as not abusing it: for the fashion of this world passeth away." 1 Corinthians 7:31, KJV

"But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. And having food and raiment let us therefore be contented. But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition. For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows." 1Timothy 6:6-10, KJV

"Go to now, ye rich men, weep and howl for your miseries that shall come upon you. Your riches are corrupted, and your garments are moth eaten. Your gold and silver is cankered; and the rust of them shall be a witness against you, and shall eat your flesh as it were fire. Ye have heaped treasure together for the last days. Behold, the hire of the labourers who have reaped down your fields, which is of you kept back by fraud, crieth: and the cries of them which have reaped are entered into the ears of the Lord of sabaoth. Ye have lived in pleasure on the earth, and been wanton; ye have nourished your hearts, as in a day of slaughter. Ye have condemned and killed the just; and he doth not resist you. Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for it, until he receive the early and latter rain." James 5:1-7, KJV

"Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world." 1 John 2:15-16, KJV

The Patriarchs of old were fully aware of the temporality of the things of this world; and it is for this reason that they clearly desired something much better. Even Moses, who was raised in the rich, affluent household of the Egyptian pharaoh, eventually grew to understand the deceitfulness of fame and riches; and this is why, by God's design, he eventually forsook it all. As the Apostle Paul tells us :

"By faith Moses, when he was come to years, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter; Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season; Esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt: for he had respect unto the recompence of the reward. By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king: for he endured, as seeing him who is invisible." Hebrews 11:24-27, KJV

"These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth. For they that say such things declare plainly that they seek a country. And truly, if they had been mindful of that country from whence they came out, they might have had opportunity to have returned. But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city." Hebrews 11:13-16, KJV

As we have already seen, the spiritual force which causes man to separate himself from his Creator, and to foolishly replace his fellowship with God, with temporal things of the Earth, is none other than Satan himself, because as the god of this world, it all belongs to him. Here is Scriptural
proof :

"And the devil, taking him up into an high mountain, shewed unto him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time. And the devil said unto him, All this power will I give thee, and the glory of them: for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it." Luke 4:5-6, KJV

"In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them." 2 Corinthians 4:4, KJV

So you see, the Devil has indeed blinded many people, who have not been wary of his evil devices. They have fallen for the very same temptations which were offered to the Patriarchs, to Moses, to Jesus, and to everyone else who has sincerely sought to follow the ways of the Lord. But these things need not to be so. While we are all tempted with the carnal lusts, desires and things of the present world, God can and will give us the strength to resist the devices and temptations of Satan. As the Apostles Peter, James and Paul also wrote :

"Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices." 2 Corinthians 2:11, KJV

"There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it." 1 Corinthians 10:13, KJV

"Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you." James 4:7, KJV

"Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:" 1 Peter 5:8, KJV

What it really comes down to is this: There are only one of two paths which one can follow in this life; the ways of the world and the ways of the flesh, or else the way of the Spirit. Either he continues down the broad, easy highway which eventually leads to both physical and spiritual destruction, or else he forsakes the path of the common herd of men, and follows the steep, rugged trail which leads to Eternal Life. As Jesus Himself said :

"Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it." Matthew 7:13-14, KJV

Notice that Jesus tells us that 'few there be that find it'. In the other Gospels, the Lord plainly tells us that He is that Strait Gate, the Narrow Way, and the only Door, which leads to Eternal Life. Consider the following verses: "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."John 14:6, KJV

"Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep. All that ever came before me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them. I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture." John 10:7-9, KJV

Until you are willing to forsake the lies and the plastic, empty life Satan has offered you on his platter of physical, fleshly comfort and convenience, and renew your fellowship with your Creator, through accepting the Sacrifice of His Son, that nagging empty feeling will remain; and you will continue down the broad highway which leads to destruction, and away from the loving arms of the waiting Father.

So tell me; are you honest enough, and humble enough to admit to both yourself, and to the Lord, that you have been tricked by Satan's lies, and have been following the wrong road? Are you willing to admit that you need a real change in your life; or do you prefer to remain a blind creature of habit, in bondage to Satan, who continues down the broad road to destruction?

It's never too late to apply the brakes, to turn around, and to get back on the right road, the Only Way, which leads to Eternal Life. As long as there is life there is hope. You may not be able to make up for all of the time you lost following Satan's detour, but at least you will have avoided the danger of being eternally lost; and you will be able to begin laying up true treasures in Heaven as you devote more of your life to Him.

Now is your time; not tomorrow; not next week; not next month; and certainly not next year! You really don't need more time to think about it. Does a drowning man ponder whether or not he should really grab the life preserver which is thrown out to him? If he waits too long, he will be a dead man! In like manner, if you wait too long due to your own pride and stubbornness, the Doors of the Kingdom will be shut, and you too will be lost! As the Bible clearly tells us :

"And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed." Romans 13:11, KJV

"(For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.)" 2 Corinthians 6:2, KJV

"Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away." James 4:14, KJV

"And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:" Hebrews 9:27, KJV

"But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided?" Luke 12:20, KJV

If you are not yet certain of your Salvation, please do not put it off another day. Procrastination is simply another one of Satan's tricks. If he can convince you to continue denying Christ until the day that you die, then in your case, he has won! Don't be his fool! Accept Jesus Christ into your life as your Lord and Saviour today. He is waiting with open loving arms, despite the hardness and rebellion which has filled your heart over the years. He is willing and able to forgive you for everything but your unbelief. If you persist in your proud, stubborn ways, you will have condemned yourself, for as the Lord also tells us :

"And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved." John 3:19-20, KJV

Will you come to the Light; or will you continue to run away from it and dwell in spiritual darkness? Please do not be like the many scoffers and unbelievers who laugh at those of us who patiently await the Blessed Return of our Lord and Saviour. Are you aware of the fact that the Apostle Peter wrote of such people, and told us almost two thousand years ago, that these End-time mockers would be plentiful during the final years of this current world? Consider this:

"Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation." 2 Peter 3:3-4, KJV

Surely you are wiser than those fools, aren't you? Surely you are not counted among them, are you? I certainly hope not. Time is indeed short. It may be later than you think. You may not have as long as you think. You could be dead tomorrow, couldn't you? Think about it. This is serious business. Are you taking it seriously?

In closing, there is an old song which says something like 'You take the high road, and I'll take the low road, but I'll get to California before you'. Well, in this case, there is only ONE high road, or High Way to Heaven, and that is through Jesus Christ. All other roads are certainly low roads, tricks of Satan, time-wasters and detours which lead to death and eternal destruction. As Peter and John exclaimed in the Book of Acts :

"Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved." Acts 4:12, KJV

If upon reading these words or message, you feel the Lord's Spirit tugging at your heart, be not surprised; for as Jesus said via His Angelic Messenger in the Book of Revelation :

"Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me." Revelation 3:20, KJV

Open up your life and heart to Jesus today, won't you? You will be glad you did. Not only will you inherit Eternal Life, but you will gain a real sense of fulfillment, such as you have never known before, as you begin to serve others by sharing with them the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I pray that this message has been a blessing and an inspiration in yo
ur life.
